Be Bold in Faith!

And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become more confident in the Lord and are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Philippians 1:14

Webster dictionary defines BOLD as being fearless, confident, brave, or courageous. Now you may be thinking… “Well, being confident or brave isn’t that hard!” And you might be right in some areas, but I do know that being BOLD in your faith in Christ is probably a completely different story. We live in a world where it is hard for Christians to share their faith all because we know that there are others who believe differently. It is intimidating and difficult to step out in faith but… that is what God called us to do.

When I posted my first blog, I got so many messages along the lines of; “Jaedyn, I am so proud of you. It takes a lot to step out in faith!” Yes, I was so happy to receive those messages, but I started thinking about why so many people kept saying that same thing over and over… “It takes a lot to step out in faith.” That is what we as Christians are called to do. We are called to share our testimony and to go make disciples of all the nations. So why does it take a lot to step out in faith? Shouldn’t everyone be doing it?

Being bold in your faith requires you to be confident in your beliefs regardless of what the world thinks of you. No, I don’t have every verse memorized, I don’t know all of the historic stories, or all of the names in the Old Testament. But what I do know, is that shouldn’t stop me from sharing God’s Word. God call us to be bold and step out in faith. He is pleased when we do this and will help us through it.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

Acts 4:13

WOW! They recognized that they had been with Jesus. I love that because that can be said of us as well. Do you ever just see someone and know that they live a life for Jesus? Walking with God gives us the courage and strength to walk BOLDLY in faith. People around us can see Jesus in and through us. God calls us to be the light of the world and not to be hidden.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.

Matthew 5:16

God calls us to be BOLD in our faith and share His word with others. We need to let our light shine for others to see and be the example of Christ that others can look to.

 If you are afraid: pray for courage and strength.

If you don’t know where to start: pray and look for an opportunity.

Our goal should be to share Jesus with others and be the light of the world. I know that I would for sure want others to look at me and say, “I can see that she has been with Jesus.” Now, how powerful is that!
